Interview With Justin Jay

The Modern Tulip did an interview with her husband the other day and I thought it was such a fun cute idea. So I stole it. Here's your guys' opportunity to better get to know the one and only Justin, my love, my husband. This blog is supposed to be about him too and honestly he just doesn't get enough face time! ;)

Me: How would you feel about spending 24/7 with your wife?
Husband: I'd love it
Me: That's your whole answer? The end?
Husband: The end

Me: Whats the best thing about fall?
Husband:  The best thing? Our first baby is going to be born in fall.
(swoon)

Me: What does PSL stand for?
Husband: Personal Snug Lovin
(I don't even know…)

Me: What are two things I do really well?
Husband:  Cook and clean. No I'm kidding, cook and craft.

Me: What is your first memory of me?
Husband: Washing carrots in my mom's kitchen.
(Literally what I was doing the first minute he saw me.)

Me: Where do you see us 5 years from now?
Husband: Another baby, settled in our home, a new job, traveling.

Me: What is one chore you absolutely despise?
Husband: Laundry
(That's why this is my chore)

Me: What is one chore I absolutely despise?
Husband: Dishes
(That's why it's his chore)

Me: When is the last time you were nervous?
Husband:  My last job interview

Me: What memory are you excited to create with our baby?
Husband: Going to Disneyland for the first time.

Me: If we could drop everything we were doing right now and go do something, what would it be?
Husband: Go to Maui

Me: If money wasn't an object what would change about our house?
Husband: Add a shop.

Me: If you could hang out with any actor for a day, who would it be?
Husband: Steven Colbert

Me: What is your favorite part about Fall?
Husband: Sports. No... Halloween.

Me: If you went on America's Got Talent what would your act be?
Husband: Stand up comedy.
(He would fail... I love him, but hes not that funny.)

Me: If fat, cholesterol and calories were nothing to worry about, what two foods would you live off of?
Husband: Pasta and nachos.
(sick)

Me: What is your love language?
Husband: Physical touch

Me: What is my love language?
Husband: Gifts.
Me: What?! No it's not.
Husband: Ok quality time.
(It's probably quality time, but I do love gifts. But also it could be words of affirmation. I guess I'm needy.)

Me: What is your ideal way to relax?
Hubs: Taking a bath.
(It's true… he loves his baths.)

Hope you all enjoyed this little spot light on my man! Also, today is National Love Note day. So write your special someone a special note! Have a good weekend guys!!

One Year Anniversary

Wow! Yesterday Justin and I celebrated one whole year of marriage. Part of me feels like we just got married the other day, and there's no way a whole year could have gone by already. But time flies when you're having fun, right?!

With it being Sunday we both had the day off and we spent the day together doing some of our favorite things in a relaxed low key day. It was wonderful.

I woke up to this yummy breakfast and those beautiful roses. Justin and I wrote letters to each other as a part of out pre marriage counseling through our church. We kept the tradition going and wrote letters to each other on our wedding day, and for our anniversary. So we exchanged letters, and gifts. With this year traditionally being paper, I got Justin tickets to see the Book of Mormon broadway play, and he got me a really cool paper that outlines everything that was going on in the world on our wedding day. Everything from popular songs and movies, news, gas prices, and sports.

We headed out for the day… but not before some selfies.

We went to the mall to get mani pedis.

I ate this delicious Cinnabon.

We did a little baby shopping. I just love these little shoes.

Justin picked out some baby ties.

Then we saw Edge of Tomorrow. And drank Icees. Justin definitely had to convince me to go see this, it was not my choice, but I actually really liked it.

Freshly painted nails, in the same shoes I wore on our wedding day.

Dinner and Creme Brûlée at Clinkerdagger in Spokane.

Beautiful view looking over the river from our table.

The restaurant decorated our table with little ribbons.

At our wedding we had bottles lined up where people could write notes to us and we would open them on that year anniversary. Our 1 year bottle got packed away in storage so earlier this week my sweet husband went digging in the storage unit to track it down. And after we got home from dinner (and Justin changed into pajama pants) we broke it open!

The loot!

The top layer of our cake has seen better days. It survived our move, but was maybe just a little lopsided and squished.

But it still tasted really good, for year old cake! =)

It was a wonderful day that we will always remember. <3

Linking up with Meg for Mingle Monday!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

What day is it?! Hump Day! (Please imagine this in the camel voice... you know the one).

I am back for another installment of What I'm Loving Wednesday! Here we go!

I'm loving that it is October. October means fall, and pumpkins, and wind, and rainy days, and football, and birthdays, and dressing up, and flushed cheeks, and colored leaves, and wonderful wonderful times.

I am loving that I have a 4 day week. I'm not exactly sure why we get this Friday off... Columbus Day isn't until the 14th, and I don't have that off. But I'm not complaining.

I am loving that I am spending my long weekend in Montana for a yoga retreat! I am so excited to get away with DeAnn (my MIL) and practice my yoga skills in the beautiful Montana wilderness. I am hoping to perfect my headstand. And maybe even crow into vinyasa... Crazy, I know.

This is crow. I can actually do this. I'm trying to accomplish kicking back from this into a plank pose and then going into a yogi pushup. Gracefully.

I am loving camo pants. I have had my eye on some for awhile and finally broke down and ordered some. They should be here soon, but I'm already planning pinning all of the outfits I'm going to where with them!

What do you think? Cute? Can I pull these off?

I am loving that I have been diligent in my workouts this week. So far I'm 2 for 2! Hopefully 3 for 3 tonight!

I am loving that Justin had the day off yesterday and cleaned the entire house. I came home from work really a little bit grumpy after a long stressful day, and was reminded of how blessed I am to be married to such a giving, loving, and slightly OCD man! =)

I am loving the fact that fall TV has started!! I'm still watching Grey's Anatomy (am I the only one?), Nashville, Dancing With the Stars, and Parenthood, and have also added Trophy Wife, and The Crazy Ones to my long list of shows on my DVR and Netflix cue.

I also love that Dancing With the Stars is only 1 night a week now.

I am loving football. And some football players...
Oh heyyy Colin

And I am loving that my little blog button is spending the month on Karissa & Company and Happy is A Choice! Such lovely blogs and lovely ladies! How lucky am I?!

I'm also loving this song! Can't get enough!

Happy hump day you all!!

Six Things!

Twice in 1 week! I told you I'd be getting better at this!

First of all... TGIF! But I also have 6 things to share with you all.

1. I just saw a commercial that The Little Mermaid is coming out of the vault in October! What what?! Just another reason why I'm loving fall! The Little Mermaid is one of my favorite Disney movies ever, and plays into why I call my grandparents Ama and Doppy. I need to have it. And you know how Disney doesn't like to keep them out there for long! Gotta snatch that up!

2. Some friends from school and I got together after meetings today to get a drink and relax a little. It was so nice to see them all in a non-work setting, and also enjoy good food and drinks! The restaurant we went to is (in a van) down by the river (just kidding ;)) and the ducks were all up in our business!! I didn't mind though, they were kinda cute.

3. I am so excited to have a weekend of doing nothing! There has been some sort of event going on for us for the last eighty (maybe a slight exaggeration) weekends! I am so ready to have a weekend of sleeping in, relaxing, watching SNL, and just hanging out with my Snig.

4. Speaking of Snig! Snig is a nickname Justin and I have for each other. It often gets switched up to different variations as well including sniggy, snigs, snug, snugs, sniggle, the list goes on. I know... we're gross... feel free to excuse yourself if you need to throw up. ANYWAY! A good friend of ours was at a garage sale and found this gem.

"An Exciting Game of Strategy and Chance"
He was kind enough to pick it up for us. We haven't gotten a chance to play it yet but it's on the To Do list for this weekend.

5. Are there any iPhone lovers out there reading? How do you guys feel about the update? Do you feel like it's a little retro feel like I do? Or are you one of the crazies out there standing in line with my husband to get the brand new iPhone 5s? Some things I really like, some things I'm still getting used to. But it sure is bright and pretty!

6. I have been loving a lot of songs lately! Let's get our Friday started with some jams!

Safe And Sound by Capital Cities on Grooveshark

Holy Grail by Jay-Z ft Justin Timberlake on Grooveshark

Wrecking Ball by Miley Cyrus on Grooveshark

And of course I've got to throw one country song in there! I'm going to see Jason Aldean on Wednesday, so be looking forward to a fun recap on that!

That's my Kind of Night by Luke Bryan on Grooveshark

Have a happy weekend you all!
