Six Months

I am officially posting this on Sawyer's 6 month birthday. And I cant even believe it. I keep looking at things that say 6 months and thinking, "Oh, when we get there..." But no... we're there! He's 6 months old! It's so crazy to me! It seems like it's gone by so quickly, and yet it feels like I've been his mom forever, like I don't remember my life before him.

This has been my favorite age so far. He is so funny and has so much personality. He cracks me up everyday. He is really coming into his little self and I love it. He talks so much. He sits there and jabbers on and tells me all types of stories. He also thinks I'm hilarious. Which I enjoy.

He is getting big enough that he can sit on my hip now. He sometimes enjoys this... if I am walking around, but he is just such a wiggle worm, if I'm just standing there he will try to squirm out of my arms. He also likes to fling himself backwards to hang upside down. Or lean completely forward to see around me. Like I said... wiggle worm.

Sawyer went on his first airplane ride! He did a great job! We found out he had an ear infection and RSV again the night before we left to go to Reno. And for a baby working on cutting a tooth and suffering from an ear infection, he was about as perfect as you can imagine!

Speaking of the tooth! It's here! When we were on our way back from Reno he finally broke through. We went up into the air without a tooth, and came down with one! I tried so hard to get a picture of the little guy... but Sawyer is pretty protective of him and wont let us get a good look.

His eyes might be changing a little. Somedays they are starting to look a little bit green right around the pupil, but somedays they still look completely blue to me. His strawberry birthmark on the back of his neck is still completely there.

Sawyer is still solidly in 3-6 month clothes. A few of the pants are starting to get a little bit short, but other than that, I don't see us growing out of them too soon.

Sawyer is such a good little eater. He wants to eat everything that he sees us eating, but we've limited him too peas, green beans, squash, and carrots. Peas are his least favorite, but he loves everything else! We have to time it so we can take his bath right when he finishes eating, because it gets EVERYWHERE! He tries to feed himself, which is just adorable. But it's quite messy.

He is such a smiley little guy. He is always smiling at strangers and making friends everywhere we go. He also is a little ham! Once the camera comes out he turns it on! Especially if he can see himself in the front facing camera!

Happy 6 month birthday little Soy Bean! We love you so much!

Spring Break

I'm just going back to work after having 10 days off. Ten amazing days. I have to say I am already counting down the days until summer. But my break was pretty  stellar.

It started out with a visit form my mom and my sister.

We gave Sawyer a mohawk,

 hung my gallery wall,

and put it some quality Auntie time. Good time had by all.

Then Sawyer and I jetted off to Reno to visit his great grandparents! We had two flights to get down there, and two to get back. I wouldn't say that flying with an infant, especially an infant cutting teeth, is my favorite thing to do...

...but seeing my grandparents fall in love was pretty great.

We also took some sink baths,
 flirted with the ladies,

put in some quality tv time (I swear I don't usually let my child watch tv, this was special circumstances),

and ate at Hot Dog on a Stick! Which was one of my favorite places when I was a little girl! I hadn't had one in forever and was pretty stoked about it!

We had a wonderful time in Reno, and can't wait to see Ama and Doppy again soon!

When we got back we caught up on some sleep, and got in some cuddle time (code for: this is the only way I could get him to sleep while he was working on cutting a tooth!)

We also got to hang out with Sawyer's cousin Ryan!

I am so excited to see these two grow up together and play together. Sawyer already watches Ryan so closely and I can just tell they are going to be a little ball of trouble together!

Break ended with Easter. We went to mass with Sawyer's other great grandparents (how lucky is he!?) and one set of grandparents, then went off to breakfast with his cousin, Auntie, and Uncle, and another set of grandparents! We are so lucky to get to have so much family around us! We came home to Sawyer's Easter basket, which he loved (I think the grass was his favorite part), and Auntie Veronica, and her friend Emily. The 5 of us spent the day together and Justin and I hosted our first holiday dinner in our new home! It was very special!

Happy Easter from the Minerts!
