Memorial Day Weekend Recap

Wow you guys, I suck at blogging. I just get so tired. Please forgive me. It's Wednesday night and I'm just getting around to recapping my weekend. But anyway!! I had a really good weekend!

Friday I had the day off, woohoo. My mother in law and I went up to Spokane to do a little shopping and eating. Two of my favorite things. Then we went to see Wicked! I saw The Lion King in New York the summer after 8th grade, but since then I haven't seen any other Broadway production. I loved it! The songs, and Glinda's character were my favorites. It was a lot of fun.

We got home from the play around midnight and I got right into bed because justin and I were leaving to head over to Seattle at 4am! The trip went well, Doodle is a great little car buddy, and we caught the 10:00 ferry over to Bremerton where we met my mom, stepdad, and two of my sisters. We boated over to Poulsbo and walked around the cute little town.

Me in the kayak my stepdad and Abbie handmade!

Doodle and I cuddling on the boat! Please excuse the hagerdness.

Abbie trying to squeeze between the tiny little "alleys" between the buildings.

This bakery was amazing! Pie, donuts, pastries, we enjoyed ourselves.

We spent the night out on the boat. My stepdad referred to it as, "camping with benefits." Which I enjoyed. And then Sunday we headed back to their house for a little BBQ, and my dear friend Erica met us there.

Other things that should be mentioned:

  • We played about 2 hours worth of Heads Up. If you don't own this app you need to go buy it now. You're welcome.
  • I ate my weight in watermelon. Not even joking.
  • We saw some seals. One waved to us. It was pretty cool. And we saw a baby.
  • We played Disney Trivia Pursuit. Abbie and I won. And now Justin wants to watch all of these old Disney movies to hone in on his Disney skills. I'd say it was a win for everyone involved.
  • Abbie and I spent some time working the Rainbow Loom, and we got pretty good at it if I do say so myself.

Rainbow Loom pros.

Come on, tell me you see it.

Monday morning we drove home and met my other siblings back at my In Laws house for another BBQ. And on the way home we saw a cloud that looked just like a whale. So that was cool.

We definitely were spoiled in the food department this weekend. And I got to see most of my favorite people. It was wonderful.

Beer Olympics Weekend

Hey there everyone! What a fun weekend we had over here! Justin and I, with the help of many friends, hosted the 3rd Annual Beer Olympics! A bunch of our friends get together and play different drinking games. It gets pretty competitive. There's brackets, and tshirts, and a lot of fun had by all. Don't worry, I obviously didn't participate this year, I was the referee. Because of this event a lot of friends and family joined us for the weekend.

Love this girl. Happy Birthday Eri!

19 Weeks and What I'm Loving Wednesday

It's been a while since I've done a WILW post. So I have a lot to love this week!

Of course I am loving my little man. I am now 19 weeks. So crazy. I can't believe I'm almost half way through!

How far along: 19 weeks
Gender: Boy!!
Weight Gain: Only 8 pounds!! Woohoo!
Maternity Clothes: Of course.
Stretch Marks: Nope
Belly button in or out: In
Sleep: Lately I'm up one time to pee.
Best Moment This Week: Feeling the baby on Sunday! Talk about a little pre Mother's Day present!
Miss Anything: Beer. My friend's will be celebrating Beer Olympics this weekend and I will be missing participating in that for sure!
Movement: Starting to feel it more and more!
Cravings/Aversions: My little man does not like sweets. Which kills me because I love them! And I crave ice cream or froyo but 90% of the time I feel sick once I'm done eating it. It's horrible.
Queasy or sick: I've felt a little nauseous this week, but still pretty good.
Looking forward to: Seeing my friend's and family this weekend!

On a somewhat related note… I am loving the new OPI Brazil colors. Especially the two I picked up this weekend. I'm wearing Where Did Suzi's Man-Go? on my toes, and I Just Can't Cope-acabana on my fingers. I really want the whole collection though. Especially those on the bottom.

I am loving my sweet husband. It's also his birthday tomorrow, so I'm loving spoiling him!

I am loving that my siblings and my bestie Erica are coming into town this weekend for our 3rd Annual Beer Olympics! It has been too long since I've seen them and I can't wait to see them and catch up!

I am loving loving loving the trailer for the movie Gone Girl. I saw it when I went to see The Other Woman this weekend (super great) and I've probably watched it 5 times since then. I can;t believe I have to wait until October to see it. I'm considering rereading the book again just to satisfy my craving for a little bit. If you have not read the book, I highly recommend it. It's amazing.

18 Week: Will Baby M be a He or a She?!

Wow you guys. I wrote this post to inform you all of what I've been up to lately and I couldn't even list three things. The truth is I've just been crazy busy with work. Well that and growing a human. Truth is, after a long day of work and meetings all I really have energy for is eating dinner, maybe a shower and then I'm ready for bed. But work is finally slowing down a  little and I have a little more free time.

BUT this week, something amazing is happening! We get to find out the sex of our little nugget on Wednesday! And I just could not be more excited.

Here's what the old wive's tales say:

Heartbeat: Above 140 says girl, below says boy. The first time was 170, the second appointment 145. Girl

Bulge: Out front says boy, in hips and back says girl. I think out front, someone please tell me if this is just wishful thinking… Boy

Belly Looks Like: Basketball says boy, Watermelon says girl. Watermelon… Girl

Boobies: We won't go into detail, my dad reads this blog. Boy

Looks: More beautiful than normal means boy, less than normal, girl. People have told me I'm glowing, but I'm also breaking out like a teenager… Girl

Urine: Bright means boy, dull means yellow. Boy

Wedding Ring: In circles means boy, sideways means girl. Boy

Cravings: Salty and Sour means boy, Sweet means girl. Fruit, smoothies, juice. That's the only consistent thing. Girl

Current age + Month of Conception: even means boy, odd means girl. 26 Boy

Chinese Calendar: Girl

Justin thinks: Girl

I think: Boy

Boy: 6
Girl: 6

Feel free to weigh in with your opinion!

Sorry about the puffy eyes and the red nose… Allergies are not being kind to me.

How far along: 18 weeks
Gender: We'll soon find out!
Weight Gain: I haven't been near a scale lately. We'll see at our appointment Wednesday!
Maternity Clothes: Of course.
Stretch Marks: Nope
Belly button in or out: In
Sleep: Lately I'm up one time to pee.
Best Moment This Week: Starting to get some baby gear!!
Miss Anything: Still beer and sushi… but we're getting sushi Wednesday so that might satisfy it a little, even though it's not the real thing.
Movement: I definitely have felt it once! Other times I think maybe but maybe not.
Cravings/Aversions: Orange Juice and fruit.
Queasy or sick: Nope!!
Looking forward to: Wednesday Wednesday Wednesday!!
