Interview With Justin Jay

The Modern Tulip did an interview with her husband the other day and I thought it was such a fun cute idea. So I stole it. Here's your guys' opportunity to better get to know the one and only Justin, my love, my husband. This blog is supposed to be about him too and honestly he just doesn't get enough face time! ;)

Me: How would you feel about spending 24/7 with your wife?
Husband: I'd love it
Me: That's your whole answer? The end?
Husband: The end

Me: Whats the best thing about fall?
Husband:  The best thing? Our first baby is going to be born in fall.
(swoon)

Me: What does PSL stand for?
Husband: Personal Snug Lovin
(I don't even know…)

Me: What are two things I do really well?
Husband:  Cook and clean. No I'm kidding, cook and craft.

Me: What is your first memory of me?
Husband: Washing carrots in my mom's kitchen.
(Literally what I was doing the first minute he saw me.)

Me: Where do you see us 5 years from now?
Husband: Another baby, settled in our home, a new job, traveling.

Me: What is one chore you absolutely despise?
Husband: Laundry
(That's why this is my chore)

Me: What is one chore I absolutely despise?
Husband: Dishes
(That's why it's his chore)

Me: When is the last time you were nervous?
Husband:  My last job interview

Me: What memory are you excited to create with our baby?
Husband: Going to Disneyland for the first time.

Me: If we could drop everything we were doing right now and go do something, what would it be?
Husband: Go to Maui

Me: If money wasn't an object what would change about our house?
Husband: Add a shop.

Me: If you could hang out with any actor for a day, who would it be?
Husband: Steven Colbert

Me: What is your favorite part about Fall?
Husband: Sports. No... Halloween.

Me: If you went on America's Got Talent what would your act be?
Husband: Stand up comedy.
(He would fail... I love him, but hes not that funny.)

Me: If fat, cholesterol and calories were nothing to worry about, what two foods would you live off of?
Husband: Pasta and nachos.
(sick)

Me: What is your love language?
Husband: Physical touch

Me: What is my love language?
Husband: Gifts.
Me: What?! No it's not.
Husband: Ok quality time.
(It's probably quality time, but I do love gifts. But also it could be words of affirmation. I guess I'm needy.)

Me: What is your ideal way to relax?
Hubs: Taking a bath.
(It's true… he loves his baths.)

Hope you all enjoyed this little spot light on my man! Also, today is National Love Note day. So write your special someone a special note! Have a good weekend guys!!

Fall, Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins, and 38 Weeks

I'm Yesterday was the first official day of fall. Yay yay yay!! Fall is by far the best season and I have been looking forward to it more than ever this year due to the arrival of my little nugget.

It also just so happens that my baby app informed me that this week Baby M is the size of a pumpkin! How perfect is that?! I'm skipping the stats this week because basically everything is the same as last week,  but here's a picture anyway for your enjoyment. And for documentation purposes.

So in honor of fall, and of the size of Baby M, I am going to share an amazing recipe with you all. Last year a coworker gave me this recipe and it has become one of my favorites, for all year round, but especially during fall. Be careful though… you can't just have one!

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins

Ingredients
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 c sugar
  • 1 16oz can of pumpkin (All of the stores in my grocery stores around me only sell 15 oz cans. Don't ask me why. But thats what I use, and it works just fine.)
  • 1 c vanilla yogurt
  • 1/2 c oil
  • 3 c flour
  • 2 t baking soda
  • 2 t baking powder
  • 1 t cinnamon
  • 2 c chocolate chip cookies
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
2. Combine eggs, sugar, pumpkin, yogurt, and oil and mix well.
3. Combine dry ingredients and mix into pumpkin mixture.
4. Fold in chocolate chips.
5. Fill greased muffin tins 3/4 full and bake for 15-20 minutes.
6. Let cool in muffin tins for 10 minutes.
7. Enjoy 1 or 2 or a million.

Wish List 2014

As we head into the fall (my birthday season) I thought I would create a new Wish List of things I've been lusting over lately. And also to give Justin some good ideas for my birthday and Christmas. ;)

1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8

1. Michael Kors Leigh Large Brown Satchel: Doesn't this just scream fall? I love the color, the gold details, and all of the fun straps!

2. Alex and Ani Charm Bangles: Last year I was dying to start my collection and now I am proud to own 5 bangles, and I love them. I have a combination of gold and silver and I wear them all the time. They go with everything. And I always get tons of compliments on them. This year I'm wanting to add the apple, the cross, and October's birthstone for Baby M!

3. Clarisonic Mia 1: Instead of going on a babymoon, Justin and I decided to have a spa day instead. We did it over Labor Day weekend and it was simply glorious. Along with out massages, manicures, and pedicures, we also got facials. I had never used a clarisonic brush before, but it was a part of my facial and I fell in love. I now need one. Need, not want.

4. Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 Camera: I think this little guy would be so fun to have! It's like an old school polaroid camera with a fun instagram like feel. Who wouldn't want to have this to play with?!

5. North Face Babs Bomber Hoodie: I've been eyeing cowl neck hoodies and side zip hoodies lately. I think that this hoodie has the feel of both, and still looks so comfy. I also feel like it will be a good piece for me this winter as I am working on getting back to my pre baby size!

6. Nikon D3200 DSLR Camera: This is my big big wish list item for the year. With our little man joining us soon, I feel the need to get a big girl camera to document our life. Not to mention that it would help out the blog too!!

7. Freshly Picked Moccasins: Just. Love. I feel like I can't have a baby and not want some of these! Not only are they adorable, but every mom I know who's babes have a pair love them. I'll probably become obsessed and end of needing about 5 pairs, but I'll start with this camo pair.

8. The Animal Print Shop Baby Prints: We are going to pick out 4 of these to go above Baby M's crib in the new house. I am obsessed with the baby elephant, he'll be there for sure, but we can't decide on which other ones to get yet. They're all so cute though, I would love any of them.

What do you think? Are you lusting over any of these items, or something similar?

37 Weeks! Full Term Baby!

Woohoo!! Let's do a little happy dance shall we! We are now officially full term! Our hospital bag is packed, our little nursery is set up, we're taking our birthing classes! Baby M can show up any time now!

How far along: 37 weeks
Gender: Boy!
Weight Gain: 30 lbs
Maternity Clothes: Yes. #imafan
Stretch Marks: Yep. #imnotafan
Belly button in or out: Shallow, but still in.
Sleep: My precious husband has been quite congested lately, and in his congested state he's become quite the snorer. Between that and my uncomfortableness I am not getting much sleep. But hey, that's just getting me ready for his arrival right?!
Best Moment This Week: Getting to 37 weeks! So happy to be full term!
Miss Anything: Quite a bit. But at this point I'm more concentrated on wanting him here than I am on things that I'm missing.
Movement: Yes! So much! And much stronger movement too! He's getting to be quite strong and his kicks and punches are actually starting to hurt a little bit!
Cravings/Aversions: We made a stop at the grocery store last night to pick up that ice cream with the potato chips in it, so there's that.
Queasy or sick: Luckily I haven't had too much sciatic nerve pain this week! But Baby M has definitely started to drop and is putting more and more pressure on my lower back and bladder! I'm not in pain, just starting to be quite uncomfortable.
Looking forward to: Our next ultrasound on the 18th! I will find out if I'm dilated at all, we will get to see our little man again, see if he's head down, get an estimate on his size/weight, it's going to be an exciting appointment!!
