Theo at 6 months

Theo James. You are 6 months old! I cannot even believe you have already been alive, and that I have kept you alive, for half a year! You are the sweetest little nugget that ever was. I can't even start to talk about you without getting the hugest smile on my face.

One of my favorite parts of the day is after nursing you before bed. You are freshly bathed and lotioned and smelling delicious, your belly is full and you just look at me and start to smile and coo and reach up and touch my face, and I just love it. My heart.

You started daycare last week and you're doing so great! Everything is going pretty well.

You are still a nursing champ, exhibit A:

(I mean look at those thighs!)

I feel like maybe I shouldn't even type out the words because I might jinx it but you are finally starting to sleep through the night again! Praise! From 7pm to about 6:30 and I couldn't be more thrilled.

You are still wearing 3-6 month pajamas and onesies, although the 6-9 month clothes really do for you better. Your sweet belly and thighs are so delicious, it takes all my strength not to bite them on the daily!

You have started on baby foods and now you think any food in my hands belongs to you. So far you've had peas, squash, sweet potatoes, zucchini, and carrots, and you haven't met a food you don't like! Exhibit B:

You have rolled from back to belly a few times, but you have to be super motivated because you would much rather lay on your back and kick and talk and reach for your toys on your activity mat.

You are getting so close to being able to sit on your own. You can do it for about 30 seconds, sometimes longer before you topple over.

You (and your brother) love to listen to music in the car and you will start to fuss if I'm talking on the phone too much or if it's too quiet.

You are a little snuggler and give the sweetest little "hugs." When I pick you up after nap time you grab onto my face or around my neck and just burrow your face into me. I absolutely love it!

Your eyes are still blue so I'm going to go ahead and say they're going to stay! Jury's still out on who you look like. People that see you often usually say you look like me but then someone we haven't seen in awhile will say, "oh wow, he looks just like daddy!"

We love you so much darling little boy! It is such a blessing to be your momma!

Theo at 5 months

Theodore James, first let me just say what a little light you are in our lives. You are just the sweetest happiest little guy.

Anyone who ever goes to get you out of bed in the morning or after a nap will comment on what a great smile you give them when you see someone is coming to get you, it's the best. You love to laugh and giggle, and kisses on your neck and chin(s) are sure to get a laugh from you. You are so easy to get to smile and we love it.

Although you love mommy and daddy this last month your love for Sawyer has really grown. Sawyer always makes you smile and laugh. You love when he sings to you or the way he gets so close to your face and talks to you. You will just track him all around the room and just watch his every move.

You still love bath time. When I take you into the bathroom to start the water you immediately get so happy and if you were fussy at all you calm right down. Then while your tubby is filling up i take you to your bedroom to get you naked and you always flip out and start crying like you think I'm not going to put you in the tub after all. And as soon as you see the tub again, completely calm. You definitely take after your daddy in that aspect! ;)

We have tried a few foods and no surprise, you can't get enough. We've tried cereal, avocado, and peas. You love it all but I think peas are your fave.

We went through a real rough sleep regression from about 3 1/2 months until about 2 or 3 weeks ago. You were waking up 2 sometimes more times a night and were never napping longer than 45 minutes. Thank the lord we are finally moving past that. You are waking up once at night now (sometimes twice, but sometimes not at all) and nap for about an hour and a half usually. And I'll take it!

You're starting to sit up with some assistance and it's so adorable. You can roll from belly to back but not back to belly yet even though you try real hard. You have also started being able to lay on your tummy and you spin around on your little mat looking at your different toys. You have found your toes and are holding them and trying to suck on them constantly. You have also found your voice and are turning into quite the little jibber jabber!

You do not like to be left alone in a room. If I leave you on your mat and take sawyer to the bathroom or run to the bathroom myself, or just anything... after a minute you will let out one little high pitched yell. It's like you're saying "hey, I'm still in here, don't forget about me!" It's quite funny.

You also do not like to be too hot. Some of the only times we've seen you really not pleased or grumpy is when we've been outside for too long and you definitely let us know you're uncomfortable. We went camping last month and it was quite hot and you were not a fan. When we got home from the camping trip and back into the air conditioned house it was like you flipped a switch and we're all the sudden your happy self again.

I think you are going to be a thumb sucker. You still take your binky and like it to go to sleep at night but you have your fingers or thumb in your mouth all the time. You also have started to play with your lovey and snuggle it against your face and it makes my heart explode. I love it.

Theo, my little love. We love you so much and have loved watching your little personality come out. You are the perfect addition to our family and we just cannot get enough of your sweet soul.
