Christmas 2014

Wow Christmas really snuck up on me! When I started maternity leave Christmas seemed like the end of leave and also a million years away. I cannot believe how fast it has gone by!

We started off our holiday week with a super special event. Sawyer was baptized December 21st. It was such a special day and I am so glad that so much of our family could be there to celebrate this with us. I didn't get a picture of the whole group... Blogger fail. But we had quite the little section there supporting our little man.

Parents and Godparents

He was so great! He didn't cry at all, and I think he actually kind of liked it!

So fancy

After the baptism we headed down to Moscow to spend a few days with my family. Then we came back up to Coeur d'Alene to do Christmas Eve with our family here. We spent Christmas Eve Eve playing games and also finding out that my sister in law is going to have a little girl! On this side of the family Justin has no girl cousins, and so far there are only boy grandchildren, so it was a pretty big deal, and very exciting!

We woke up Christmas Eve morning and had our traditional aebleskivers (yum) breakfast, opened presents, and had a relaxing day before a delicious ham dinner and then heading back to Moscow! Thank goodness we were lucky enough to have good weather for all of our traveling!

He loves it! =)

On Christmas Day we woke up to our second set of stockings and more presents. We were definitely spoiled! We had a delicious prime rib roasted in rock salt (so delicious) for dinner! It was a wonderful day!

We stayed on Moscow until Saturday and spent a lot of time watching movies, playing games, napping, and just spending time with my side of the family that we don't get to see that often! It was a great great vacation!

Van Gogh and Merlot

Over the summer my MIL, my Grand-MIL (is that a thing), my sister, and I went to a Van Gogh and Merlot event. If you haven heard of this before, it's an instructional painting class where you also get to drink wine and have appetizers. We absolutely loved the event and when we heard you can also have them come to your house for a private party, we knew we had to do that.

My MIL hosted an event earlier this month and it was such a great time! There was great wine, great food, and great company! And Justin was on Sawyer duty so I could have a few glasses of wine! ;)

Last time I was a little uptight about how my painting turned out (probably because I was pregnant and didn't have the wine to help me relax) and I didn't love how my painting turned out. This time I went with a more relaxed attitude, and it turned out a lot better!

When you attend 5 classes you get a free Van Gogh and Merlot apron so we're already thinking about when we can go next!

My finished project!
What do you think?!

Sawyer Jay is Two Months Old

Sawyer is 2 months old! We went to his 2 month check up yesterday and he got 2 shots. Poor baby. We had a pretty rough day after that, but today he is doing much better! He is 23 3/4 inches long, and weighs 11 pounds 11.5 ounces. He is growing growing growing and actually starting to be a little chunky, which I love.

Some Sawyer tidbits:

Sawyer loves to be bounced! He is not happy when he is still. He loves his bouncer, and the bouncier the better. He likes to be walked around the house, swayed, or jiggled. He even will start crying if we are sitting at a stop light in the car for too long, but then stops once we start driving again.

He has started sucking his fingers again. He did this when he was first born but it stopped his first month. He is back at it now and it is so cute!

He is starting to reach out and grip onto things, especially mom's hair!

The Christmas season is perfect because he still loves the lights! He loves to stare at the tree!

He is becoming such a little mover and shaker! He gets his legs kicking so fast and he has gotten so close to rolling over a couple of times!

Sawyer laughed for the first time the other day, and I just died. It was so freaking cute. We were lucky enough to get it on video! I put a little clip of it on my instagram, if you haven't seen it yet, you should go look at it right now!

We are now officially a fan of the pacifier. Mommy and Daddy, and Sawyer.

He has completely grown out of newborn clothes now. The 0-3 month clothes are fitting perfectly. I have a feeling that we'll be out of them soon though... His jammies are just starting to get a tiny bit tight in the length.

The strawberry on his neck is still there so I think that it might be there for good. And same with his blue eyes! I know they could change still but I'm hoping they hold out!

We sure do love our little Sawyer Jay!

Newborn and Maternity Pictures

We had professional maternity and newborn pictures taken and we just got our pictures! I am in love with them. Michelle from Heartfelt Moments did a wonderful job. Here are some of our favorites.

Aren't they great?! =)
