With it being Sunday we both had the day off and we spent the day together doing some of our favorite things in a relaxed low key day. It was wonderful.
I woke up to this yummy breakfast and those beautiful roses. Justin and I wrote letters to each other as a part of out pre marriage counseling through our church. We kept the tradition going and wrote letters to each other on our wedding day, and for our anniversary. So we exchanged letters, and gifts. With this year traditionally being paper, I got Justin tickets to see the Book of Mormon broadway play, and he got me a really cool paper that outlines everything that was going on in the world on our wedding day. Everything from popular songs and movies, news, gas prices, and sports.
We headed out for the day… but not before some selfies.
We went to the mall to get mani pedis.
I ate this delicious Cinnabon.
We did a little baby shopping. I just love these little shoes.
Justin picked out some baby ties.
Then we saw Edge of Tomorrow. And drank Icees. Justin definitely had to convince me to go see this, it was not my choice, but I actually really liked it.
Freshly painted nails, in the same shoes I wore on our wedding day.
Dinner and Creme Brûlée at Clinkerdagger in Spokane.
Beautiful view looking over the river from our table.
The restaurant decorated our table with little ribbons.
At our wedding we had bottles lined up where people could write notes to us and we would open them on that year anniversary. Our 1 year bottle got packed away in storage so earlier this week my sweet husband went digging in the storage unit to track it down. And after we got home from dinner (and Justin changed into pajama pants) we broke it open!
The loot!
The top layer of our cake has seen better days. It survived our move, but was maybe just a little lopsided and squished.
But it still tasted really good, for year old cake! =)
It was a wonderful day that we will always remember. <3
Linking up with Meg for Mingle Monday!
Awww, there is so much awesome in this post! Congratulations, there have been so many exciting things happening for you two this year! I love your ideas for the paper anniversary gift, (we're still 10 months off, but we were talking about the concept yesterday). Those baby ties are precious! I hope those notes contained lots of happy memories!
ReplyDeleteI found you through Mingle Monday. What a special way to celebrate your anniversary. And I love that he changed into pajama pants. Oh how things change once we're married. My husband and I have been married almost 17 years and have 4 kids so I totally get it! :) Happy Anniversary to you.
