Wish List 2015

Ahhhh! The wish list! This is one of my favorite posts to put together! I always do it in the fall, and it's a signal that my birthday is around the corner! I waited until the last minute this year, since my birthday is on Thursday!! But there's always Christmas too! ;)

1. Keurig 2.0 K250 Brewing System- So I love me some coffee. But Justin goes a little bit crazy in the morning with his coffee. We have to request "normal" coffee when we have guests. Justin's coffee has been called sludge and mud, it's basically straight coffee bean in liquid form. He makes a pot in the morning and then drinks is all day long, and even sometimes the next day again if its not all gone. Sick. Anyway. All of that to say... I like to be in control of my own cup of coffee. So me and my keurig are buddies. When I first got one a couple of years ago I got the personal one, that only brews one cup at a time, and you fill the water each time you use it. It's great and all, but I would really love an upgrade!

2. Maskcara IIID Foundation Palette- I have been following Ms. Cara Brooks since before I had a blog. I found her on Pinterest and became obsessed with her make up tutorials. She talked in all of them about how one day she would create her own make up line, and then she did it! And I want need it. I have been admiring the before and after photos on the Mascara instagram page for far too long.

3. Alex & Ani Cross Wrap Bracelet- I love my collection of Alex and Ani bracelets. They will probably always be on my wish list. I would love this cross one, or the apple one.

4. Bip & Bop Kelly Cluster Necklace- I would love to have one of these necklaces! I would put my anniversary on the bar, and Sawyer's initials on the circle!

5. Custom Address Stamp- Before we moved I had one of these. Then Doodle ate it. Then I ordered a new one. Then like 6 months later we moved. So now I need another new one. They are just so fun! And they seriously save so much time!

6. Cutco Galley Set- I grew up with Cutco knives, and then when we lived with my in-laws, they had Cutco knives too. They are the best. And i got used to a certain level of greatness, so now my knives are just not cutting it anymore (see what I did there ;)).

7. Silverware Set- (Ours are from Bed, Bath, and Beyond but I couldn't find the exact link.) You know you're getting old when your wish list is filled with kitchen and home products. But seriously. I'm hosting Thanksgiving this year, and we only have one silverware set, which does not have enough pieces for my family. This simply will not do.

8. Pacific Beach Sofa- We really need a new couch. The one from our old house just doesn't fit right in the new house. This plus a big fancy arm chair would be my dream. Justin's dream involves leather and cup holders and something I am not willing to put in this house. So we are at a stand still. But a girl can dream!

9. Calvin Klein Gigi Boot- A girl can never have too many boots. And I have been really wanting some over the knee ones!

10. Littlest Warrior Be Kind Tee- Be Kind could pretty much could be my life motto. Plus, I hate mean people. Plus, Littlest Warrior is a super cool business, spreading awareness and inclusion and I love it.

11. Pink Box Drill Set- Since we moved into our new house I have been doing more and more projects lately that involve a drill. I would like to have my own so that it can always be charged, and clean, and organized, and I don't have to go into the cold garage and dig around in that mess to find it. Plus, its pink!

12. Apollo Tools Set- Basically the same reasons as 11. But I have started my own little collection of tools. I have a hammer and a measuring tape, and I could really use some screwdrivers so that I can more easily put new batteries in all of Sawyer's toys without breaking off the tips of my knives (another reason I need new knives!).

What do you guys think? Good list? Are you in agreement with me about the couch? And I totally need that new Keurig right? I'd love to hear what you think!

xoxo

A really good weekend

Do you ever have one of those weekends that's just relaxing and fun and great and perfect? That was pretty much my weekend.

Friday night was spent drinking a serious amount of booze. We found a gas station that sells 30 racks of Coors Lights. Which we had never seen before. It was exciting. We played land mines. It was wonderful.  (If you're interested in the rules of this glorious game, just let me know.)

Saturday I got to spend the day shopping with my MIL. We had lunch and wine, went to Macy's, Sephora, and Michaels. Really... three of my favorite places. It was a great day.

When I got home Justin and I went and saw Catching Fire. And it was GOOD! Really good! Better than the first one even.

We also got to see the preview for Divergent. I had heard that it was going to be a movie but I didn't realize I was going to see it so soon!! If you haven't read it yet you probably need to real real soon so that you will be prepared for the movie!

And after that we went to Sushi dinner! We were still kind of celebrating my birthday because of how crappy my actually birthday weekend was. But this totally made up for it. Amazing day right?!

Today we went to Costco, one of my favorite places. Because Thanksgiving is this week they had some fabulous taste tests. It was delicious. And I got a bag of this stuff:

Yea, it's called Holidrizzle. It's amazing.

Then we cleaned our entire house top to bottom because we have a showing tomorrow. (!)

But then we ordered in Thai food to reward us for our hard work.

Funny how the weekends just staying around town and doing pretty normal stuff can be so fun. It was seriously a wonderful weekend.

Birthday Recap and Thankful Thursday

Tuesday I woke up actually feeling ok for the first time in 5 days. I started getting ready for work while Justin busied himself in the kitchen, not letting me out of the bedroom.

And here is what he prepared:

How lucky am I, right?! I got a little excited about my gift and ripped open the pretty packaging before I had a chance to take a picture of the whole set up. Also, ripped into one of those pancakes. Whoops. #sorrynotsorry

I had been wanting these boots for awhile and was soo stoked when I opened that pretty box and saw them!

I went to school and worked all day but it was still a great day. The people I work with are so nice and amazing, and the kids are hilarious and everyone wished me a happy birthday, and I got tons of compliments on pretty boots.

At lunch Justin surprised me with flowers too!

After school I headed up to my in-laws house and relaxed, hung out, had a glass of wine, and had a delicious delicious birthday dinner with my favorite dessert!!

This beautiful concoction is a brownie with hot fudge, nuts, and homemade whipped cream!

It was a fabulous day!

Now on to Thankful Thursday!!

I am thankful for my husband. When I had strep throat this weekend he took such good care of me. I do not know what I would do without him. And would you scroll up and look at how he spoiled me on my birthday?!

I am so thankful for all of my family and friends who showered with me love, and texts, and gifts, and cards, and happy thoughts, and everything that was sent my way on Tuesday. I am beyond blessed.

I am thankful for my health. Funny how I said this last week and then I got strep throat. But I am thankful that I am recovering and that I feel almost back to myself.

I am thankful for my MIL. She pretty much stood on standby in her kitchen waiting for me to give her the go ahead that I was feeling ok enough for birthday dinner for 3 days in a row, and I appreciate her.

Link up with me and let us read all about what you're thankful for!

Wish List

My birthday isn't until November 19th. But my birthday is in the fall and once the air starts to feel a little more brisk and people start pulling out their sweaters and boots, I can't help but feel like my birthday is around the corner.

Justin usually prefers for me to email him links to things that I may want for my birthday or Christmas or Valentine's Day, or any other occasion when I get a present. But this year I have decided to make my wish list here on the blog for us all to swoon over.

So here we go... (These items are not in order of importance or most desired.)

1. Subaru Outback 2014
I have owned my beloved Dora (the 1999 Explorer... get it?) since my sophomore year of high school. We have had some wonderful times and she will always be loved and never forgotten.... but I wouldn't mind having this baby. And Justin... it might be nice for us to have a car with good gas mileage, you know?

2.  Teacup Pot Belly Pig

Oh. My. Gosh. Seriously, I die. Just go google teacup pot belly pig and tell me they are not the cutest thing ever. I've been wanting one of these for a while now. And the pig that I got as a wedding gift from Justin will definitely hold me over for a little while but I'm going to need one of these sooner or later. I'm already thinking of names. It's bad.

If you aren't a yoga goer you might not know what this is... But when you are doing hot yoga and sweat is dripping off of you on to your mat you start slipping all over the place and can not do your poses as well as you normally could. Having one of these helps to keep you in place and Yogitoes is the best. This One is called Om Candy and I just love it.

I have been wanting to start a charm bracelet for a long time. I originally thought I would go with something traditional like a Tiffany's charm bracelet. But then I found Alex and Ani and knew that these are the ones I wanted! I love how you can wear a lot or a few or just one, I love all of the options, and I love that they are different then the traditional charm bracelets you always see.

5. Boots

This shouldn't even need to be on the list because I mean really... they are boots. And I love them. All kinds. These are the ones I'm really pinning for right now though.

Tory Burch

Duh.

Can you really ever have enough? Plus I don't have this height or color.

Do I even need to explain why I want these? I mean look at those bows! And Justin... These are actually practical! I could wear them everyday of winter so my feet don't get wet and cold on the playground and walking through the snow!

6. Full Body Massage

I got a gift certificate for this for Christmas last year and it was heavenly. I wouldn't mind another one a single bit!

Ok I think this is a sufficient Wish List. This should hold us over through Christmas too! I'll let you all know Justin's reaction when he reads this because it's sure to be comical! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Day 15: A Day In the Life.... and Justin's Birthday!

The blog challenge for today in the Blog Every Day in May Challenge is "A Day in the Life." Today is an extra special day as well because it is Justin's birthday!

Birthdays are a big deal around here. When Justin and I first started dating I told him about how my friend Karissa's family does a whole birthday week, and how great I thought that was. We decided that we would start doing that too, and it's been a tradition ever since. Karissa's family has this super great excitement building way to do it where their table gets more and more festive as the week progresses, with cards and presents piling up on the table. I would love to (slash will) do that when I have children, but for now Justin and I celebrate birthday week by doing a little something special each day leading up to your birthday. Pretty great.

Justin is also in the process of going to school part time. Unfortunately for him he also had finals this evening. Bummer. This means that his birthday was not able to be the rip roaring celebration that birthdays should always be. Especially because he turned 26 today! I took every chance I could to remind him that he is now in his LATE 20's. =)

Anyway... Justin's birthday celebrations will pick up again tomorrow when finals are over and carry on through the weekend, but here's some pictures of today.

Veronica and I were up early to make Justin breakfast. Doodle took this opportunity to cuddle up with Veronica's pillow. Isn't he the cutest?!

He said he got honked at all day. Love.

Some of his birthday cards. He's very loved.

I got him this t-shirt today. I didn't get a picture of him wearing it yet but I'll be sharing that just as soon as possible! =)

So then Justin and I had to go to work. Veronica and Doodle got to stay at home and play. Jealous.

After work Justin studied and Veronica and I made tuna melts for dinner. Yum.

While Justin went off to take his test, the rest of us stayed home to watch Big Miracle and cuddle on the couch. I thought it was a great movie too. Those "based on a true story" movies always get me.

I've been working on this bad boy for awhile now. I thought I was going to have enough corks for sure when I started but I'm not quite there. So I added a few more corks on while waiting for the Birthday Boy to get home.

So there's my Justin's day! More festivities to come! Stay posted!
